MOR Argan Oil Handcream is Aromatherapy Heaven

Everyone knows that argan oil is great for hair and the number of hair care products featuring the miracle oil as one of its top ingredients on shelves today has bloomed.  But did you know it is also amazing on skin as well as it has extremely high levels of Vitamin E and 80% fatty acids which make it perfect for softening skin, soothing minor irritations as well as protecting against premature aging caused by oxidation?

When I found that the latest handcream from MOR contains a high concentration of this miracle oil, I knew I needed to literally get my paws onto them.

MOR Argan Oil Hand Cream  - 75ml

I am a sucker for packaging and MOR always does one of the best packaging out there. This time, before even digging into the product, the box had already won me over. Borrowing themes from the bygone art of sending hand-written mails for the Correspondence range, the box is showcased with a stamp sheet print design, accented by traditional trims and a colour-coordinated beeswax monogrammed seal to give it that special hand-pressed touch. It evokes a very romantic feeling with soft pastel colour.

Packed full of argan oil (it's the 2nd ingredient in the listing!) which assists with premature ageing and a blend of Artichoke Leaf Extract, Shea Butter and Rooibos Extract to rejuvenate and smoothe hands as well as boost the anti-oxidant factors.

A rich cream, it is easily absorbed by dry hands and fingers, and a little goes a long way. The aluminium tube makes it easy to dispense the product out and I like to rub a pea size amount into my finger tips and cuticles as those are my driest parts before working a bit more of the cream onto the rest of my hands. Once absorb, it leaves a light sheen on skin, smoothing and softening tired dried hands and give a soft and silky feel. The shea butter is really awesome especially during winter when my skin gets dry and scaly and I use it on my dry elbows as well.

Available in 9 fragrances, I love the Sencha Verbena which reminded me of aromatic lemon grass while Tangelo Grapefruit is a refreshing blend of neroli and orange essential oils. Both scents lingered lightly on skin even after a period of time which I really enjoy.

If you are after a great hand cream this winter with wonderful scents, be sure to look out for these when you next visit a nearby counter. I know I'd be picking up another tube with a different fragrance when my current one runs out.

RRP A$26.95 at Myer, David Jones stores, gift boutiques and MOR online.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter SPF 15 Hand Cream

I love handcreams, really, I’m actually quite obsessed with them. They help soothe my cuticles, prevent those shaggy bits of skin from forming and peeling on the side of nail and soften the rough edges around my index and thumbs since I never wear gloves for any chores.

So I have countless numbers of them lying around the various room of the house, 2 in the office at work, another in the car, and yet another one in the handbag!

Unfortunately none of them have sun protection so I always have to slather sunscreen on top over the back of my hands whenever I’m out in the sun. So when the clever guys at Palmer's came out with this great wonder cream to the mass market – I was singing hallelujah.

Palmers’s Cocoa Butter Formula Hand Cream SPF 15 – 60g
  • Rich thick, this hand cream comes with a luscious chocolate scent and is the perfect size to carry around in your day hand bag. It rubs into skin easily and once absorbed, is non greasy and has an instant softening effect. I'd love it even more if the it had a velvety finish to-touch afterward like L'Occitane handcreams, but then again, it might not come out as affordable
  • Deeply nourishes skin with coconut oil and cocoa butter, vitamin E, this is a great daily hand cream. . Best of all the inbuilt broad spectrum sunscreen means one less follow-up cream I have to layer on my skin and sometimes, I’ll slather this all over my arm as well to make sure I get the moisturisation and sun protection (SPF 15 blocks out 96% of the sun's ray).
  • Perfectly sized for the handbag, it's a treasure in the car where your hands are likely to be exposed for long periods whilst driving on a sunny day.
  • If you love the scent of chocolate then you’ll love this hand cream. I’m not big on my gourmand scents but I don’t mind this chocolatey one because it’s that good.

Big brownie points to Palmer’s for being the first to come out to the mass market with and SPF hand cream. It’s a very affordable and works wonders to soothe, protect and softens skin, and best of all, it has the highly coveted UVA/UVB protection so I don’t have to slather another layer of cream on top and end up a greasy mess.

RRP A$4.20 at supermarkets, Priceline, Kmart, Big W and selected pharmacies.

Review: MOR Belladonna Hand Cream & Scented Candle

MOR latest addition to the Emporium White collection is truly to lust for. Released in time for the warmer spring season, the Belladonna range is a sweet bouquet of white narcissus, Moroccan rose, pink tulips with a freshness of Meyer lemon, and sweetened with vanilla, musk and sandalwood and French Cassis (currants).

This soft and feminine scent has an air of feminine powdery complexity that will surely take you to the provincial era where life was less hectic and more romantic.

The range covers the traditional MOR body luxury products with a bar soap, hand cream, body butter, and scented candle - all luxuriously packaged with pink blossoms, gilded gold leaves print and decadent MOR logo embossing.

Belladonna Hand Cream - 100ml

Being a hand cream lover, I immediately gravitated toward the product and had to give it a go myself.
  • The box is beautiful and the tube elegant, the latest hand cream sits proudly on my desk at work with its bulbous gold cap providing it an opulence and style that no other hand cream in my collection has.
  • Packed with moisturising cocoa butter, shea butter, glycerin and vitamin A and E to protect, this hand cream is rich and creamy but is lightweight and absorbs instantly to leave skin supple, velvety to touch and lightly scented for hours.
  • It is especially great for dry fingers during the day with constant handling of paper and the drying office air conditioner. After a week of use, even the rough ragged bits on my index fingers were tamed and smoothed into soft digits. Hallelujah!

Belladonna Scented Candle - 184g

  • This scented candle will enlighten up your room and world with the heavenly Belladonna scent and will give your home a touch of old world charm in the frosted glass jar gilded with 24 carat gold logo decal.
  • What I love is that within 30 minutes of burning this candle, your whole room will be warmly scented with the Belladonna signature scent which gently wafts to fill all corners of the house and have it smelling like a spring bouquet of delicate florals.
  • And if you need more reasons to love this artistically presented candle, you can't go past the long burn time of 40 hours for days of endless enjoyment, the clean and smoke-free burns you get with the 100% soy wax and lead free cotton wick (for even burning of the candle, I advise to burn for no more than 3 hours each time).

MOR body products make amazing gifts that is always welcomed and love with their precious and pretty packaging and Belladonna is another fine example of the decadent attention to detail that we've come to expect.

It is also something you can indulge yourself with for a little touch of luxury in your everyday life and I'll be giving you a chance to win some of your own Mor luxuries Belladonna shortly. Stay tuned here!

Review: Orly Rich Renewal Creme

The winter weather's causing havoc on my skin this month. Scaly legs and dehydrated arms are starting to show up. Add to that, my hands are getting very dry and the cuticles are looking ragged and chapped. It was time to take some action and hit myself up on some intense hydration.

Orly Rich Renewal Ultra Hydrating Creme
  • The purse size 60ml tube of goodness is handy to carry arounnd and comes in 3 amazing fragrances - Passion, Peace and Paradise. I had the Peace one which is a light vanilla and white tea scent - yummy and heavenly at the some time.
  • Indeed very rich but not at all greasy - in fact is has this silken feel and is very much similar to L'Occitane's ultra Rich Cream in texture. It is absorbed quickly and starts to hydrate skin immediately.
  •  Love the fact this multi-tasker can be used on the all parts of the body and works well on hands to soothe culitcles
  • Leaves skin soft and silky by quenching it with moisture whilst subtly scenting it. Within 3 days my scaly arms were starting to look very normal again.
Ingredients listing:

I just can't get enough of this stuff and could slather it on all day long. I love it for the scent alone but this beauty is a winner in the all important hydration and softening department as well - what's there not to love?
